A Life at Lake Idro

From my earliest days, Lake Idro has been a constant source of inspiration and joy. Born into a family that cherished this place, my first visit to the lake was when I was just 10 days old. Since then, every stage of my life has been intrinsically connected to the serene waters and imposing mountains of Lake Idro.

During my childhood and adolescence, I spent countless holidays here, immersing myself in unspoiled nature and interacting with tourists from all over the world, particularly with the many Dutch who flock to its shores in summer. These experiences allowed me not only to practice English but also to form lasting bonds with diverse people and cultures.

The lake’s eastern shore was my playground: I would cycle from one beach to another, savoring every moment. Winter brought another adventure: the nearby ski slopes became a meeting place for me and my Milanese friends, especially during our university years.

Now, approaching my fifties and as a father of two young children, Lake Idro offers me a refuge from the bustle of Milan. Here, I find cool rest in the lake waters, enjoy kayaking, one of my favorite sports, and dedicate time to growing vegetables and fruits in my garden and orchard. It is also the perfect place for my children to play in various playgrounds and gardens, where they can explore and have fun safely.
